Universe Odyssey is a film that tells the Story of life, the universe and everything else in 6 minutes. Commissioned by the Museum to visualise the Big Bang and beyond, we recommended avoiding the traditional route of heavy CGI star fields, explosions and rapidly expanding particle systems. We explained that for general visitors we needed to find ways to re-tell the story using familiar objects and with metaphors that help them understand the unimaginable figures involved.

All footage was then composited into virtual environments we created, supplemented with visual effects. The final film is a Super widescreen format delivered by two edge-blended HD projectors onto a cyclorama screen in a specially built cinema.

    Restless Earth

Restless Earth had to explain the tectonic forces placed upon the earth, so we developed a series of films to be projected via a PufferSphere display — a internally projected spherical screen. The films had to be designed to perfectly match with no joins when projected, creating a large, constantly rotating glowing Earth.
