  • National Wallace Monument The National Wallace Monument is one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks. It celebrated it's 150th anniversary with a complete refurbishment designed by Studio Arc. We were commissioned to create two central AVs for the new galleries located within the tower.

    The National Wallace Monument is one of Scotland’s most iconic landmarks. It celebrated its 150th anniversary with a complete refurbishment designed by Studio Arc.

    We were commissioned to create two central AVs for the new galleries located within the tower – an immersive centrepiece film for the new Hall of Arms Gallery and a Design Your own Shield interactive.

  • Wallace: The Making of a Hero A bespoke six metre screen and 5.1 surround sound immerses visitors in the powerful, emotional, and enduring story of Wallace's life, from his rise to prominence and victory at Stirling Bridge, to his elevation to national icon. We worked with artist Richard Anderson to develop a distinct visual narrative and original illustrations with a bold, monochromatic style. Brush stroke effects drive camera movement. Ink spots representing water and blood emphasise the more violent aspects of the story. Additional layers of smoke, glare and particle effects create mood whilst adding depth. The film has a dynamic, tension-building score by composer Giles Lamb. The script was developed by BBC Director Richard Downes and is recorded in eight languages.

Visitors design their own shield, choosing divisions, colours, and charges before uploading their shield to a large projection mapped display wall. Their design is also projected onto a shield canvas where they can pose for a photograph, leaving them with a memento from their visit to the monument.
