Working with the team that produced the Conan Doyle series they gave us the leeway to push the dramatic reconstructions further with more elaborate shoots and using filmed effects for fire, smoke and water. We even had a rat wrangler on location. Original plans of the dissection theatres used by the real life subject of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde were brought to life alongside well thumbed autopsy manuals.
Gillespie, Kidd and CoiaRetrospective of the legendary Scottish architectural practice best known for their uncompromising application of Modernism. The exhibition is the most comprehensive overview of their work and the largest show ever commissioned by The Lighthouse.
Working with Collective Architecture and artist Toby Paterson we produced the exhibition identity, display graphics, films, animations and marketing materials. We also designed the definitive weighty coffee table book of the practice's work.

Projects included "Design for Travel", a projected gallery that presents the design history of London Underground, "World City Walks" which contrasts large scale generative graphics with UGC films we commissioned across 4 continents and "Connections" , a dramatic 30 ft high installation that presents information graphics, user journeys and live data from Transport for Londons CCTV camera and traffic monitoring software.

It follows a couple of old guys behaving badly, lusting after the fragrant Jane Asher. All the sets and text were rough hand made constructions shot under rostrum with the actors facing the indignity of being chased around a studio with a giant green finger. Music by the incomparable Ivor Cutler.
Savalas IdentityOur pals at leading film and TV sound studio Savalas came in to talk graphic identities for a re-branding of their company. We proposed working together on a series of motion identities, audio-generated graphics that would both become their new logotype and visualise their process and creative activity.
We developed code that would react to a series sound signatures Savalas created. These became the foundation of all their new print and promotional materials, web and showreel interfaces. The main identity is now used as the main demo piece for their their dolby theatre with a range of 2 second versions used for cueing in clips and balancing audio.
Particle Piece 2Part of a series of visuallisation and modelling pieces we have created with artist Simon Simon we took electron microscopy scans he had captured from tiny slivers of emulsion scratched from a photographic negative. From these we created a virtual 3D model of the fragment that was then made physical via stereolithography / 3D printing.
Once signed off the data files in this case were used to create the foam structure of this sculpture, then sealed and treated by Simon and his assistants. The final object was about 2.5m x 6m and was exhibited at the old Bath House in Parnie Street as part of Glasgow International.
